The Tiger lilies are in bloom. First flower opened on Sunday. On Monday there were six. Soon they all will flower. The wonderful thing with Tiger lilies are that they flower for about two weeks. It depends on the weather. Less sun and warm weather they last for longer.
It has not been raining in a long time. Yesterday it was raining heavily. When the rain stopped I went to look if it had damaged any of the flowers. They all looked fine but wet. Here are some photos of the Tiger lilies after the rain.
Already so many more tiger lily flowers in bloom since the first one on August 1st. On the other hand it is a good thing the temperature is not as hot as it was still a week ago. The flowers last longer. But, it looks like it’s too cold for the Strawberry Candy lilies. The flowers are not opening in full size. I hope it will be a little bit warmer so that I will be able to take some nice photos of them too.
None of us were able to remember when it rained last time. It really has been extremely hot week after week after week. Nothing like summers usually are. This week it has been raining in many parts of the country but, not here. Finally, yesterday it was raining. The short, about 30 minute, thunder & rain gave buckets of water. The nature so needed it. It stopped as quickly as it began and the sun was back and it was as warm again as it has been all summer. I feared the rain would destroy the tiger lilies but they are good 🙂
And there will even be more. I hope they still will be in bloom when my childhood friend, who gave me these, will visit us next Wednesday. Gosh, already 1st of August. Wishing you all a good one.
