Lilium Martagon
I had forgotten the name of this flower so I looked it up on Google where it says it’s also called Turk’s cap. I learned the flower may be from pink, purple and white to brown and even black. I have seen them only in pink and white. I don’t have of these in my garden. These grow in the garden of a friend of mine. Google also mention it’s highly toxic to cats.
Strawberry Candy Daylily
The New Daylily
In the morning, Saturday 15th, it was thrilling to see the first of the two buds on the plant my friend gave me a couple of weeks ago opened. The plant is about 35 cm tall and the flower about 5 cm wide. I was not sure would it have the strength to bloom this year. Such beautiful color ! I googled for pictures of yellow daylilies on the web and found many that look like mine but with stronger yellow and red color. I think the lighter color of mine is because the plant is so young. Â According to the pictures my baby plant is a Hemerocallis ‘Fooled Me’. I can’t wait to see it fully grown to about 50-60 cm tall and 12 cm wide flowers.
Daylily Hemerocallis ‘Catherine Woodbury’
The Catherine Woodbury is in bloom. The first flower opened yesterday. Two stems, the other one with a total of 15 buds the other 10 buds. When I look up for pictures and information on this flower there are about 50/50 many hits for both Catherine Woodbury and Woodbery. Hmm, which is the correct one. The two first pictures I took at about 8 am and the last one at about 5 pm.
Orange Lilies
Down the road there is a garden with plenty of these orange lilies. The ones in my photos grow right outside. As there was nobody near I quickly took a couple of pictures. Not that i think they had objected as we often stop to exchange some words with the couple. I hope my orange one will have as many flowers.
Strawberry Candy Daylily
First thing I did Sunday morning I looked out the patio door. No, no Strawberry Candy in bloom. Monday morning the same thing. No, not yet. Â Today, there, the first one in bloom. Even before having my morning coffee I took some pictures of it plus some more during the day. I know, way too many, as always. There are two stems, nine buds each, makes eighteen flowers which makes me very happy.
New Plants & Beautiful Candle
On Thursday our friends visited us. They brought us plants. The plants are from their own garden. Two day lily plants and one phlox plant. The other lily plant has buds. I hope it will flower still this summer and that all tree plants will feel at home in their new flower bed here with us đ
The new lily plants in the front row. Note the black arrows !
The new phlox plant to the right.
They also gave us this beautiful rose candle in white and lime in a footed glass bowl with the decoration sand also in lime. I love it †I saw online they call it a peony but I think it looks more like a rose. Peony or rose, it doesn’t matter because it’s absolutely delightful. At first sight my husband thought it was edible. It sure looks delicious and yummy.  Thank you dear friends thank you đ
Doesn’t it look like a cake ?
Pink lily/lilies.
Yay ! The pink lilies are flowering đ I hope they will last for as many days as possible. I don’t know but to me it looks like the rainy, wet, damp weather is no good for the flowers. The ones that already have faded look almost rotten. I think there was more or less rain most every day in July. Thumbs up for less of it in August. Wishing you all an enjoyable August !
