January

I hope your January was good and safe and now wish you all a Happy Safe February.

Yesterday morning my husband woke me with a ”Happy February”. Really ? ! Already February. It feels like it was 1st of January yesterday. Here are some January photos. For several winters there has been hardy no snow. Now there is a lot. I love it. It is beautiful and reminds me of my childhood wonderful winters. But, the strange thing is there is a lot of snow even in countries, places where there hardly ever is snow.

My Cat Jacky

Autumn at it’s best. Warm, sunny days. About 15-18 degrees. Blue skies. Here are some photos from the last few days. The dahlia ”Fire and Ice” is still in bloom. A yellow autumn hawkbit and the rose nip. Plus two photos of our cat Jacky. He is eating grass.

Completely Cats ~ Stories With Cattitude

Completely Cats Stories With Cattitude CJacky IMG_3847CCI read about this book on two different blogs I follow. The other one is Katzenworld and the other Rohvannyn, Mindflight who also does have a story in it. I ordered it online from Adlibris and it arrived last week. I began reading it in the beginning of this week and have, so far, read two stories. I am sure I will like all of the stories and the illustrations are so very cute. Good thing is. Each book purchased will help support work of International Cat Care. Today I saw Jacky using the book as a pillow when napping. My husband says he thinks I should, every evening, read one story at bedtime for Jacky.

Jacky

In the spring we talked to the vet about when to have Jacky castrated. I asked should it had been done already because I read it’s usually, now a days, done at an much earlier age than we have had it done to our other cats. Usually by the time they show signs of marking their territory. He said it’s okay to have it done later. Come back after the summer vacations. On Wednesday we took him there and had the procedure done. The vet said he needs to wear the plastic collar for twelve days. I don’t think none of our other cats needed to wear a collar for that many days. But, if it’s how it must be then be it. He soon learned how to master the thing. I’m afraid he thinks he must wear it for the rest of his life. I tell him every evening only so many more days and you will get rid of it. I bet he will be ever so happy when we take the collar off. Only eight more days to go.Jacky IMG_3561CJacky IMG_3560C

Jacky & The Apple Tree

Jacky loved to jump up onto the laundry drying rack and walk it back and forth. He did that for several times a day. He also loved to lay there to watch our doings from above. Now the drying rack is so out !

The old apple tree now is “the in thing”. He is up there many times a day. He climb as high up as possible. I see the thinner branches bend under him and it makes me worry he will fall. My husband suggested we cut it all down ! Yesterday our son put a shelf halfway up into the tree. The idea is he will stay there and not go further up the tree. Doesn’t it look like he is, at least for now, very pleased with the shelf.
