@ The Helsinki Herring Market

The Helsinki Herring Market is an week long yearly event held in the beginning of October. We don’t visit it every year. But, as it was such a beautiful sunny warm fall day yesterday we decided to go. We arrived about 1:00 pm. There was a fog approaching quickly. It was impossible to see the nearby islands. As walking from the parking to the market place we saw more and more of the islands disappear into the fog. In 30 minutes it was almost impossible to see the ferries in the south harbour. Something I don’t see happen, very often, in the middle of a sunny day. I forgot all about the herring market. I only concentrated on the fog.

Foggy Evening

As predicted the snow from Friday is gone. It was raining yesterday more or less all day. At about 6 pm when Canelo and I went for a walk the entire world seemed to have disappeared. Weather forecast for today is cloudy but warm. About +10 to 12 degrees Celsius (50-53 F) I like it. It means there soon will be a lot of spring flowers. I have, by the way, spotted snow drops in a garden. Ufff, I so much wanted to shoot some photos but had to give up the thought of entering somebody’s property.
