Since the summer 2013 I have practically made smoothie every morning. In my smoothies I mostly use mango, bananas, oranges, pineapples, avocados, strawberries, blueberries etc.
On Friday there were pomegranates in the supermarket. I bought two. Long ago I bought one. I, back then, after trying to get the seeds out, found it messy and threw it all into the garbage can. I had no idea how to properly get the seeds out. That was before the internet. Now it’s easy as you can find on the web just anything you need. I looked up how to seed a pomegranate and found many useful video clips and blogs. I used the instructions of how to seed the fruit from a clip by Rocking Robin’s on YouTube.
Oops, wrong date ! Should of course read 11.1.2015 🙂
Cut the top off. Gently not to harm the seeds. Make 6-8 cuts not all the way to the bottom. Loosen the parts up little by little. Start knocking it with a wooden spoon to get the seeds out. I used just my fingers to pick them out as I didn’t want any of the white membrane into my bowl. For the smoothie yesterday I put the seeds into the blender and then used a strainer to get rid of all the tiny hard parts of the seeds. Then I poured the juice back and added frozen strawberries, bananas and Greek yogurt. Today I was lazy and used the tiny hard parts too. I have to say, in my opinion, it is much nicer without them.
