Iittala Naïve art

It has been a strange and different spring this year because of the virus. Had it been a normal spring we would have visited both a couple of art exhibitions and museums already. We, as everyone who have had the possibility to do so, have stayed at home. Except for going to the grocery and twice visiting my childhood friend. Visiting her we had coffee outdoors and kept proper distance. The Museums and art exhibitions have been closed till recently. Now many are open. So on Tuesday we visited the Iittala naïve art. A yearly exhibition I just love to visit. There always are so many wonderful paintings.

Art Exhibitions at The Didrichsen Museum

In the end of August the Marita Liulia ehxibition Mysterium. The short, about 20 minutes, film was worth watching. She told so many things about her life and her works.

On Friday, November 8th we visited an other nice exhibition. The best place in the world to paint. Finnish and Swedish artists painting in Önningeby, Åland, during the summers at the end of the 19th century. Beautiful landscape paintings. Also this time we sat down to watch an about 20 minute film about the Rönningeby and the Artist. Next time, if there will be a next time, I visit Åland Islands I will visit Önningeby and the Önningeby museum.

Sinebrychoff Art Museum

Yesterday we visited the Sinebrychoff Art Museum where is held the exhibition Heavenly Colours – Blue and Gold. It is opened on March 28 and is open till August 25 this year. It was very nice. Here are some photos.

Classic Motorshow, Lahti

The Classic Motorshow is a yearly happening held at Lahti Fair Centre. Lahti is an about one hour twenty minute drive from where we live. We don’t go there every year. We have been there twice, in 2006 and 2007, visiting the Caravan Fair and three times, in 2009, 2015 and now 2019 at the classic motorshow. My husband (I guess I have mentioned it before but, say it again) is a huge fan of all kind of old, classic vehicles. I like to go with him to the happenings. I like the atmosphere, the cars are nice and I get to take photos.

@ Ateneum ~ František Kupka Art Exhibition

František Kupka, Lipstick 20190313_081727CAs I mentioned, in my previous post, I would together with a friend, go to visit the František Kupka exhibition on Tuesday. The exhibition contained a total of 150 works + the 52 minute long documentary/biography film. We liked both the film and the exhibition very much. We stayed there for about 2,5 hour and ended the visit with a cup of coffee and a sweet bun. Thank you my friend for a nice day.

Just a few snapshots.

Amos Rex Art Museum

Last Saturday the line to the new Amos Rex Art Museum was very long. As it was raining and we already were soaking wet we decided to postpone our visit there. On Wednesday the weather was great and went to visited it. The line was much shorter but still it took us 30 minutes in line.

This is what it says about it on Wikipedia:

Massles, the first exhibition at the Amos Rex museum, is made by the Japanese collective teamLab. It consists of an immersive interactive art exhibition rich of colours and leaded by creativity. The viewers are encouraged to interact and explore with the surroundings giving rise to different results.”

It was different, interesting. Visitor’s drawings of crocodiles, lizards, butterflies, parrots, flowers flying, crawling, mowing, floating around all over.

A Day In Tampere (part two)

From the Old Library, Culture House it was a short walk to Vapriikki Museum Centre where the “Marilyn – A Women Behind Her Roles” exhibition is held 8.6.-2.12.2018. The main reason for our visit to Tampere. “The exhibition has over 300 of Marilyn’s personal items on display – including famous garments, shoes, makeup, jewellery, photos” We took a guided, almost one hour, tour. It was interesting and enlightening. After the tour we also visited the Mineral Museum where you can find colorful stones and minerals. At the vintage-market I saw many beautiful things. But, I’m glad i didn’t by anything. I already have too much of stuff at home. Before heading back home we went to an Italian Restaurant, Trattoria Tammerin puisto. My pizza was so delicious.

A Day In Tampere (part one)

Such a beautiful fall day to spend with friends in Tampere. Tampere is situated about 170 km north of Helsinki. We went there by bus. We walked to Kulttuuritalo Laikku (Old Library, Culture House) where we enjoyed a cup of coffee before we visited the three different events held there. The exhibition “Fragile” by Hanna Oinonen, the Contemporary Jewellery KORU6 exhibition and an about 30 minute ethno concert. Performers accordion Viivi Maria Saarenkylä. Hilda Länsman, joiku = montone chant sung by lapps.
