Print Head Wash

My Canon MP560 printer has not printed colors properly in a while. I have bought new color cartridges. I have gone through all the maintenance steps like, cleaning, deep cleaning, print head alignment, nozzle check, bottom plate cleaning and roller cleaning. I have checked all the settings both for photo printing and document printing. But nix ! Every time I print the colors are not right. The printer is only three years. I love it and certainly would not want to buy a new one. Looking for hints on the web I found a video clip on YouTube how to wash your print head. So that is what I’m doing now. It’s a last, desperate attempt to get the printer to work properly. The process will take about 8 to 10 hours ! If this doesn’t help I will be very disappointed.

Tablet, Protective Case, Macally PenPal, Keyboard

For already some time already I have wanted a tablet. Every time I mentioned it to my husband he said are you really sure need one.  Well, I told him, of course I do not need one but It would be nice. I was a bit torn whether to buy a new cell phone or a tablet. I still am using my Nokia N95 phone from, I think, end of 2007.  At some point I  wanted a Lumia. Then two or three days before Christmas I decided to stick to my old Nokia N95 and buy myself a tablet as Christmas present.

It is an Acer Iconia B1.  7” ” Screen Display. 16 GB internal Storage 1 GB Ram. The size is just perfect for the kind of shoulder bag I use.

I wonder why I did not buy a protective cover at the same time I bought the tablet. Well, on Monday I ordered one from Verkkokauppa and a Macally penpal for touchscreens. Both arrived yesterday.
Logitech Double Keyboard Latin Cyrillic img_5397cc

One more thing I bought is a double keyboard, a latin-cyrillic one. I am still studying Russian at Arbis, The Swedish Adult Education Center. Now I am able to do my homework using word and not writing them by hand. My handwriting is terrible, hardly readable.

Felt like Christmas 🙂  🙂

2012 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 6,000 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 10 years to get that many views.

Thank you WordPress stats helper monkeys so much for the annual report of how my blog did in 2012. People from 65 countries have viewed my blog ! A big thank you to all of you !

 I wish you all A Wonderful Year 2013 !

I like receiving the annual report from WordPress.com helper monkeys. It’s fun, nice and interesting. Thank you helper monkeys 🙂 You helper monkeys probably are totally exhausted by setting up the stats. The report says most visits for my blog for one day during the year was 70. According to “my” stats it was 80 viewers on December 11, 2011 for Joululimppu Jullimppa Christmas Loaf. Well, never mind dear helper monkeys. No matter 70 or 80 you have done a great job 😉

Hugs and thanks to all of you visiting my blog during the year. All the best for 2012 !

New Year’s Resolution

Happy New Year Everyone 🙂

As I’m totally addicted to my computer I have made a new year’s resolution. When I told my husband that I’m going to turn on my puter only three days a week, Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesday, he laughed out loud. He says he bet it won’t last for very long. Anyway my addiction is pretty bad and disturbing. You know, now a days, I practically both eat and sleep in front of the the puter. I really, really need to put more energy and effort on household work. So . . . let him laugh I must give it a try.

Typekit Fonts

It really was bothering my mind not being able to figure out how to use the Typekit Fonts.  I’m too stubborn to give things up. My husband told me to forget the whole thing. Instead I decided to give it a last chance.  It turned out to be a matter of concentration. Had to read the instructions really slowly for it to sink in.  Finalemente 🙂 Yes, it was pretty easy.

Font Test

How stupid am I ! How come I can’t figure out how to use the free Typekit Fonts ?

30 minutes later:

Oh ! ! ! Now I see ! Or at least I think I understand 🙂 I finally have been able to change my font. Not in the way I wanted. I wanted to use the font, not in my entire blog just e.g. here in my test post. The font I chose is so similar to the one in use before so it took me a while to see the difference.

Well, I’ll just stick to this one for now.

Another 30 minutes later:

I fooled myself thinking I had been able to change my font ! The font looks a bit different depending on which browser I’m using. Fire Fox or Explorer. I give up ! The font is what it is. I have spent to much of time on this 😀

It’s also a language issue. My English is way too poor to understand all the technical details. Or it’s just not my English. I’m not that technically good even in my mother tongue Swedish or my second language Finnish.

Typekit Fonts

After upgrading my blog to WordPress I’m a bit disappointed to have to sign up for Typekit Fonts if I want to use any other font than Times New Roman. It says it’s for free but it all seems very complicated to me. Specially after reading several pages of the Typekit Fonts terms and conditions. I got the impression that free fonts might be charged for at some point so I didn’t want to sign up.

Well, maybe I’m all wrong here. Yeah probably that’s the case. Not understanding the text to it’s full intent as English is not my mother tongue.

So why write in English then ? One reason is many of our relatives don’t speak Swedish which is my mother tongue. I like to practise my English and also think this a good way of sharing some news with them and others as well.

I do wish WordPress had offered an easier way. Just a box on the same line you click bold, italic etc.

After all, Times New Roman is OK 🙂

Photo competition/contest

There is a photo competition/contest arranged by Kuvaboxi. I found the pictures of Elina’s puppy and Santeri so cute so I asked Elina if it’s OK if I take part in the competition with the photos. She said yes

Here is the link if you want to go and have a look at them:
