Yesterday it was the warmest day so far. Sunshine all day. I saw this yellow butterfly flutter around in the garden. A common brimstone. We call them lemon butterflies. I took my camera and went outside and took some photos. The lens was not the best possible for photographing butterflies. But, had I went back indoors to switch to an other lens the butterfly probably had fluttered away. There is not much to photograph now because we are staying at home. Only time we go out doors is into the garden or to drive to the supermarket to pick up groceries we have bought online. Take care all !
So nice! I saw the first butterfly of the year last week, while walking near my home. It was a very pleasant surprise. I also saw the first turtle of the year.
“The firsts” each spring always are very pleasant. Aww, turtle. We have no turtles. After some warm days the forecast for the end of the week/Easter will be bit colder. Happy Easter !
So much fresh water in Finland, but no turtles! I didn’t know that. We have big snapping turtles which can be quite fierce when disturbed. Happy Easter!
Quite big ones ! According to Wikipedia up to 50 cm. II hope they are not good runners. I mean if you by mistake happen to disturb them.
They’re slow on land, and they only defend themselves. Even in the water, they never attack people unless they have no choice. Gentle dinosaurs, really.
Good. I understand. They of course have to and have the right to defend themselves.
