During the years I have made countless attempts to, at least, get one good photo of a jay. But, no ! They are shy, they a super quick to fly away or they hide behind a branch. Today, I couldn’t believe my eyes. One sat in the apple tree right outside our bedroom looking right at me. It’s a gray rainy day. Maybe he wanted to come in. I grabbed the camera and shot a couple of shots through the window. Then went out to perhaps be able to shoot more photos. But, he already had moved on to sit high up in a tree on the neighbor’s side.
Lucky you as these birds, all of them do not often give us time for a good photo!
Hi navasolanature and thank you for your comment 🙂 Unfortunately most birds are so hard to photograph. I am so happy this one stayed long enough in the tree for me to shoot the photos.
Nice shots! Our blue jays look quite different, of course, but they’re shy, too (Cyanocitta cristata). They come to the feeders occasionally but they don’t like to be watched!
Hi and thank you Tokens of Companionship 🙂 I looked up blue jays on Google. Such a beautiful bird. I read on Wikipedia that the Eurasian jay and blue jay belong to the same family, Corvidae.
