@ Forum Marinum Maritime Centre

On Friday 28th it was my husband’s birthday. For the fifth year in a row we have celebrated it by going to different places of his choice. This year he wanted to visit the Forum Marinum Maritime Centre in Åbo. It mostly was gray skies all day and a bit chilly. Good it didn’t rain. Not until late in the evening. Such a nice day. More photos tomorrow 🙂

Flowers

Dahlias, begonia and pelargonium IMG_7087CDahlias, begonia and pelargonium IMG_7089CDahlias and begonia IMG_7079CTonight it was cold. Only + 3 degrees Celsius at 7 am. First thing in the morning I looked out the window to check how my three dahlias, two begonias and pelargonium/geranium are doing. They look fine. No frost on them. We have to, today, move them indoors, into the garage, for the winter. Little by little little we water them less and they will soon fade. All of them have been with us for years already. The white/red dahlia from 2006. The photos are from Wednesday last week. You may wonder what my husband is doing. Well, he is picking apples from the ground, sitting 😀

@ Tivoli / Funfair

In the beginning of last week we saw ads the Funfair Seiterä would be visiting a sport field near us. Only 3 km away from where we live. My husband was kind of joking all the week about taking me there on Saturday. I let it all in the other ear and out the other. On Saturday in the afternoon I said to him, hey, let’s go to there. Hehe-heh, he thought I was joking. Usually it’s me, sometimes saying, don’t you think we are too old for this or that. This time it was him saying it. I said who cares, just let’s go. It’s entrance free and we can leave at anytime. I’m glad we went. It was so nice.

Street Art

Here are some more photos from Friday 7th when we were in Pasila. After photographing the 34 m high mural we on the way back to the parking saw more wall paintings.

Back at home I searched for information on the paintings. I found out I had it all wrong about these two photos above . This is how it should be seen. Photo below. (not a photo taken by me.)

Below three paintings a cross the street.

Mural

Some days ago my husband told me there is a new, 34 m high, mural in Pasila, Helsinki painted by Li-Hill a Canadian artist. He asked me would I be interested to go there to see it. Of course I was. We were there yesterday. On the way I said, I think there is still too much fog to be able to see it in full. Fortunately the fog had almost disappeared by the time we were there. The woman in the painting is Finnish and lives in Pasila. It is an impressive painting.

Annual Autumn Garden Fair

Yesterday we were at the autumn garden fair at Marketta park. Only 7 km from where we live. The last spring and autumn fairs have been beautiful sunny days. Yesterday it was raining. I think there was not as many stands and visitors as usually. Well, we arrived there right at the opening hour at 10 am so maybe there was more later during the day. I didn’t take as many photos as I usually do. It was hard with the umbrella in one hand and the camera in the other.
