Here are the last photos, plus a video clip, from Sunday 23rd July. Next year, 2018, the Tall Ships Races will sail from UK to Denmark to Norway and the Netherlands.

More Tall Ships photon. The parade of sails was so nice. The ships slowly glided pass by the shores of Ruissalo. They blew their horns, the crew waved their goodbye and all of us thousands and thousands cheered, waved and applauded back to every ship. I’m still working on editing more photos 😉

The Tall Ships Races 2017 in Turku/Åbo (part 1 of 3)

From Kotka the ships sailed to Turku for a four day stay from Thursday 20^th to Sunday 23^rd. The weather was warm and nice. The parade of sails took place from about 2 pm, when the first ships sailed down the Aura river towards Airisto, to 6 pm. Next they will be in Klaipeda in Lithuania.  I was on my feet for 8 hours ! My goodness my back and feet hurt. But, it was so much worth it 😀 I, of course, also this time took way too many photos. Here are a few from the festival area along side the river. I will post more soon from the parade of sails.

Lilium Martagon

I had forgotten the name of this flower so I looked it up on Google where it says it’s also called Turk’s cap. I learned the flower may be from pink, purple and white to brown and even black. I have seen them only in pink and white. I don’t have of these in my garden. These grow in the garden of a friend of mine. Google also mention it’s highly toxic to cats.

The last pictures from the Tall Ships Races, Kotka. No more photos of ships But, art of the ships and cups and mugs. I love mugs and it was so hard for me to not buy any. I can tell, I wanted to have all of them.

The Tall Ships Races and Maritime Festivals 2017 in Kotka. (part 1 of 3)

 

There’s a lot going on from the 12^th of July to the 16^th. Parades, concerts, dance, theater, amusement park, many, many festival market stalls, restaurants, fire works and, of course, the ships. We were there on Thursday. Many ships already had arrived. I was so pleased to notice some ships would still arrive on Thursday. Such a wonderful, wonderful day it was. The ships are truly both beautiful and magical.

The race route, this year, is Halmstad, Sweden – Kotka, Finland – Turku, Finland – Klaipeda, Lithuania – Szczecin, Poland.

Red Clover

Once again, I just couldn’t stop myself, to again take loads of photos of the red clover.

Visit at the stable

Yesterday was a gorgeous, warm , sunny day. A perfect day to pay a visit at the stable where my sister keeps her horse. Also this summer there was a foal. So very cute. I shot a short video clip of the foal and the proud mom. It’s become tradition that we afterwards, all together, go for lunch. The cafeteria we usually have been to, recently opened an other one down by the sea. Thank you for a lovely day !

Ant

There are ants on some of the flowers in the garden. I wonder how to get rid of them. I read insects don’t like spices. Well, they disappear for awhile but then return. Today I took pictures of them just for fun. As soon as they see me with the camera they hide under both flowers and leaves. They are super fast. None of the pictures were sharp enough. I gave up and turned one to photo art using Prisma art app.
