Already for some time I have heard the baby sparrows under the garage roof and seen the parents bring them food. I wonder are they the same couple who were there last summer. Yesterday in the morning when I looked up I saw three hungry babies screaming for food and soon enough a parent came and all three opened their mouths. They actually look fully grown already and ready to leave the nest. One even came outside (pics 3 and 4) and it looked like it wanted to follow the parent. But, then went back in. They are so cute but messy. We need to clean it up a bit when they have moved away.

Deer
Uff, still upset I, last week, missed the opportunity to shoot close ups of the deer in my neighbor’s garden. But, I’m not giving up the dream to, one day, be able to meet an other one, eye to eye, and take my best ever close deer picture. On Tuesday there was one in the field not far away from us. I took a couple of pictures from, an about a 150 meter distance. He stood there like a statue but, when the two hares, closer to me, got frightened and ran away he too got scared and ran.
Beautiful Ox-eye Daisy
I saw these from the car growing on the roadside. As so very often when I see something when we are driving I shouted to my husband to stop, stop, stop. It was a windy day. The flowers were swaying a lot. I would have loved to take some close ups but it was impossible. Instead I took a short video clip.
Bambi ?
Some days ago, at about 10:50 pm our cat was staring at something into the neighbor’s garden. I went to look and asked him is there a mouse, a rat or a hedgehog. I looked up. Oh my gosh ! A deer. Only about 4 m away from us. To me it looked like a baby deer. I turned around, trying to move slowly not making any noise, went for my camera. Back with the camera the deer had left. Oh no, it was a beautiful night and not too dark yet. It would have been the perfect picture. Next evening at about the same time the deer was back. The same spot. Just about 4 m between us. Now I had my camera at hand and went very quietly and slowly towards him/her. Geeez ! I blew it ! The light was bad and the picture was way too blurry. Yesterday Canelo and me went for the evening walk. I looked into the neighboring garden. Yay ! The deer laying under a garden swing. I could see his/hers ears. I tied Canelo to an apple tree and sneaked closer little by little. Zoomed in and shot the picture. I went back to the sidewalk and to have a look at the picture. What ! ? Doesn’t look like a deer. Nope, it was a hare. A big one. So disappointed and also pretty jealous because my neighbor had been able to take gorgeous pictures of the Bambi.

Jacky & The Apple Tree
Jacky loved to jump up onto the laundry drying rack and walk it back and forth. He did that for several times a day. He also loved to lay there to watch our doings from above. Now the drying rack is so out !
The old apple tree now is “the in thing”. He is up there many times a day. He climb as high up as possible. I see the thinner branches bend under him and it makes me worry he will fall. My husband suggested we cut it all down ! Yesterday our son put a shelf halfway up into the tree. The idea is he will stay there and not go further up the tree. Doesn’t it look like he is, at least for now, very pleased with the shelf.
Happy Birthday Jacky
❤ ❤ ❤
It was Jacky’s one year birthday yesterday. Time flies. It seems like yesterday when we brought him in the middle of last August. I wanted to have some outdoor pictures of him and shot one set on Friday the 9th. In case it would rain on Sunday. It didn’t. so I took a couple more photos of him yesterday. He got a toy. A “big rat” 😀 Canelo took it after a few minutes. Convinced it was for him 🙂

The Kaivopuisto Air Show 2017
The Air Show was arranged by the Finnish Aviation Museum and took place in Kaivopuisto Helsinki yesterday. The weather was gorgeous. Lots and lots of people. We were not there from the very beginning but, we saw Finnair’s new Airbus A 350 while still walking to the site of the event. Unfortunately I was not yet ready with my camera. We also saw Arctic Eagles, Typhoon and Gripens fly. They were fast and the noise level was high. I’m happy we didn’t take Canelo with us. The gray color of those planes made it hard for me to follow and my photos were no good. I deleted them all. Luckily the Red Arrows red color made it much easier to photograph.
A short clip. Quality not very good.
Apple Flowers
I have been quite busy and almost missed photographing the apple flowers. On Monday I saw they started to turn brownish already. I quickly took a couple of pictures. I, of course, have plenty pictures of them from years back but, when they are in bloom I can’t resist them. Jacky was very curious about what I was doing. He climbed up in the tree trying to figure out what was going on. Wednesday was a windy day and all the petals blew away.
