Happy 2016 !

NY 2016The WordPress stats helper monkeys have been busy putting together an annual report detailing how my blog did in 2015! Thank you stats helper monkeys !

Looks pretty much like in the years before. Here are some of the numbers:

A New York City subway train holds 1,200 people. This blog was viewed about 4,700 times in 2015. If it were a NYC subway train, it would take about 4 trips to carry that many people. There were 332 pictures uploaded, taking up a total of 199 MB. That’s about 6 pictures per week. The busiest day of the year was May 10th with 107 views. I had visitors from 68 countries. Most visitors came from Finland and Sweden. The United States were not far behind.”

Christmas 2015

Quam with his two Christmas presents. While I took the pictures he kept pushing the carrot off the climbing tower. Good work out for me to pick them up. Canelo also received two toys. Stuffed ones. He was so happy and so excited. After about twenty minutes he had them ripped up and all the white stuff all over the floor.  Short but intense happiness 😀

I hope you all had a nice Christmas. We had an enjoyable, peaceful one. It would have been nice with a white Christmas but down here, in the south of Finland, where we live there is now snow. Good thing is after the rainy days it’s not been raining during Christmas days. The evenings have been beautiful with clear dark blue starry skies with bright moonlight. Yesterday it was a full moon. I read in the paper in the morning it’s 40 years since there was a full moon on Christmas Day last.

The winter solstice was on Tuesday December 22nd which means it was the shortest day and the longest night of the year. Yay ! The days will, little by little in the beginning, get longer. Love it !

Paper Snowflake Decorations

The other day there was a link on my FB wall to how to make paper snowflake decorations. So yesterday when hubby was away all day I spent the day making a few. I made them in two sizes. The bigger ones, paper squares, 15 cm x 15 cm and the smaller ones 10 cm x 10 cm. The ones in my pictures are the bigger ones. When hubby came home he saw them hanging in the window. First question was where did you get those from. Well, I said, I made them. Nooo, he said. Yes, I did, I said 🙂 I used copy paper. I think the result would have been better with another kind of paper. Maybe I make new ones to see if the chose of paper will make any difference.

Quismo ~ Favorite Pictures

I was heartbroken and crying for many days after we had to let our wonderful, adorable Quismo go to the kitty heaven. Now a little more than three weeks later I’m able to talk about him and watch pictures of him without bursting into crying uncontrollably. I’m so thankful and happy for the 12 wonderful years together with him. Some Bengals have a coat that is described as “glittered.” The fur shimmer in the light, as if it were tipped with gold dust. Quismo had a lot of this gold dust. When he sat on the patio the sun made him look gold. I many times tried to photograph the shimmer. I never got it right.  Here, one more time, some of my favorite pictures of him. Unfortunately I lost all the pictures of him, taken in the end of 2003 and beginning of 2004, when he was little due to a hard disk crashed down.
