Last Thursday when we were at Lidl (the German discount supermarket chain) I saw Clivias. They were one of my mother’s and her sister’s favorite flowers. Of course I had to buy one.
I looked up about Clivias on Wikipedia. This is what it says: “Clivia miniata (I think mine is a C. miniata) is a species of flowering plant in the genus Clivia of the family Amaryllidaceae, native to damp woodland habitats in South Africa as well as in Swaziland. It is also reportedly naturalized in Mexico.”
My plant is small one. So far only one flower stem. Hopefully it will last for more than just a week or two. I hope it will
get many more stems with flowers. We’ll have to wait and see.
Thank you saxsilverain 🙂 Yes, there were small flower buds too. They all are in blossom now. I actually don’t have many flowers in my garden more than the lilies. Every summer I decide not to take any new pictures of them but when they bloom I can’t resist the temptation to do it.
beautiful flower and i see cute small flower buds, too. one day you must take a picture of all your flowers at once (or your garden). i’m sure it will be quite a sight! 🙂
