Across The Lake

Swimming across the lake Pitkäjärvi is an annual happening arranged by the LaVi = Laaksolahden Viri ry. The total distance to swim is 2100 m. We were there for the first time in all these years. Neither of us taking part in the race. I would have loved to but my husband told me not to because he knows how easily I get cramps.

About 40 people participated. Picture just minutes before the start.

Then there was the toot  . . .

Oh, they are fast  . . .

First and second to return . . .

My Half Sister

I was a foster child since the age of four. My mother = foster-mother always did her best to encourage me to keep in touch with my birth mother but I never really wanted.

When I got older we did meet occasionally. I now wish I had asked her, my birth mother, more about many things. Now of course it is too late as she passed away already long ago. Neither did I learn to know my brother who too has passed away.

After many, many years I really was very happy to meet my half-sister again. How wonderful of her to accept my invitation to come visit us.  She has two sons. It would have been nice to meet both of the boys but the older one was at work. We were happy to meet her younger, 14 years old, son.

Red Bull Show Run

Some weeks ago I told my husband Kimi Räikkönen is going to run his rally car in the Esplanade park. Can you believe he said he was not at all interested in the event !  The show run was today. I’m glad I was able to brainwash him to come. He actually admitted it was nice. My goodness they were driving fast.

@ Friends

Dear Friends, Thanks for having us there yesterday . . .

Our friends and hubby

It probably was the warmest day of the summer. We were swimming in the lake. No algae there.  The water was warm. We were able to stay in it  for as long as we wanted. Canelo was in the water for, I think, about three hours. The food was delicious. Yes, a perfect day !

Machaon Papillon

Our friends found this beautiful butterfly on their patio some weeks ago. It had died because the right wing was damaged. At first I thought it was not a real one. Maybe somebody had left it there. No, no . . . they assured me  it’s a real one. I took it outdoors and put it on a plant to take a photo. As you can see I have edited/photoshopped the wing. I wanted to give the butterfly his wing back at least on the picture.

My Yellow Lilies

Now all of my different color lilies are in bloom . . .

Olympus SP-560UZ

Canon EOS 350D

I love my both cams but am using my Olympus much more often because of the weight.

Tomorrow is time to shoot the red lilies 😉
