Watching their presentations made me think about the times our son used to do both judo and kickboxing. Judo when he was about 8 – 10 years old and kickboxing at about 14 – 16. I wish I had some pictures of him from those days. I remember suggesting I go with him to the club to watch but got a firm no thank you for an answer. The judo I could have watched but the kickboxing I’m not sure about. He also participated in kickboxing competitions and once he came home eye and face blue and swollen. He was not happy at all when I burst into tears. He just said it’s nothing . . . you should see some of the other guys ! Heh-heh.
Lats week I read the book “Lite räcker inte” by Eva Wahlström published in 2007. She is the most successful Finnsih female boxer. A very well written and very interesting book. I couldn’t help but wonder how would I have reacted if my daughter, if we had had one, had told she wanted to become a boxer. Well, probably not well at all as I burst into tears about our son coming home with some minor bruises.
