Week 17

Thank goodness for my four days a week off work. Yahooo ! Yesterday really was a crazy day at work ! Out of 6, practically, only 2 of us were in the office. The telephone went nuts and we got more requests by e-mail than usually ! Typical or what ?

Weather forecast for my days off

Today Thursday: cloudy, but it will be the warmest day of the spring so far. Plus 19 C / 66,2 F.

Friday: sun + 14 C / 57,2 F

Saturday: sun + 11 C / 51,8 F

Sunday: sun/clouds + 11 C / 51,8 F

We have no other plans for the weekend yet more than that my husband want’s to go to an other of those "markets" on Saturday. I have not yet decided wheather to go with him or not.

During the week I received a parcel by post from my cousin who had realized she forgot all about my birthday which was already long ago. She now sent me a gift, a very nice linen tablecloth. I like the colours. So my dear cousin, if you read this; Thank You ! But as I’m not sure you are reading my blog I will send you a thank you card.

Also during the week we got news and pictures about two newborn babies. The sister of our god-daughter had a little boy and my good friend Liisa became a "granny" to a very cute little girl. Congratulations to all in both families.

På Kaffe Hos Linda

Tack Linda och familj för en underbar dag !

What a great day we had visiting our goddoughter Linda’s.

Detta är vår söta käcka guddotter Linda med sin minsting Minea. Ja vi var inbjudna på kaffe idag. Vi träffade hela familjen samt Lindas pappa. Vi hade klart Canelo med oss. Linda har en 11 månader gammal Hovawart (jämngammal med Canelo) som Canelo verkligen fick rasa om med så till den grad att han"stupade i säng" när vi kom hem !     

Det hade regnat på morgonen så det var ganska vått och lerigt. Vi gick en liten tur längs en smal sandväg. Hundarna fick springa lösa. Du milde så dom såg ut efter att ha jagat varandra i vattenfyllda diken och på lerig åker. Men båda var glada och lyckliga efter det. Tyvärr blev det inget av bilderna på hundarna !

Miten ihanan hauska päivä vierailulla kummityttömme luonna. Canelo oli haltioissaan saadessaan riehua samanikäisen hovawartin kanssa. Juoksivat hullun lailla ojia ja kuraisia peltoja pitkin 🙂 Sääli vaan että, kuvista ei tullut mitään. Olin nimittäin, killisiläminen kun olen, asettanut liikkuvan kuvan sijasta lähikuvaa!

Porvoo: Ruskis ja J.L. Runebergin Museo

 

Päätettiin lähteä ajelulle mökkiautolla. Suuntana Porvoo. Porvoo on "minun kotikaupunkini" ja siellä on aina yhtä mukava käydä muutamien vuosien välein. Pistäydyttiin ensiksi Ruskiksen lintumaisemilla minä tietysti toivoen että, voisin kuvata joitan harvinaisia lintuja. Ei siellä ainakaan tänään ollut kun ihan tavalliset lokit ja sorsat. Alue kuitenkin on kuuluisa muuttolintujen levähdyspaikkana sekä pesimispaikkana.

 

         

      

Kaislaa on paljon ja se on vielä tässä vaiheessa ihan ruskea. Oltiin viimeksi käyty alueella 36 vuotta sitten bussilla valokuvausretkellä yhden valokuvaseuran kanssa. Koska ei ollut vielä digiaika niin muistan että, kuvasin ainoastaan n. 10 kuvaa. Meillä oli eväitä mukana ja kaikin puolin oli mukava retki.

 

Leif halusi käydä J.L. Runebergin museossa. Viime käynnistä oli ehkä saman verran, 36, vuotta, kun Ruskiksella. Ajattelin jättää väliin ja kävellä sen aikaa Canelon kanssa. Olen nimittäin käynnyt siellä niin monta kertaa. Onneksi muutin mieltäni ja menin mukaan. Olin unohtanut että, sitä korjattiin ja restauroitiin ihan uuden veroiseksi joitakin vuosia sitten. Oli kyllä upea ! Pidin siitä nyt ihan eri tavalla kun silloin pienenä tyttönä ja teininä.

Kotimatkalla ajattelimme vielä piipahtaa tuttavien luonna vaikka epäilimme etteivät ole kotona. Eivät olleetkaan. Kuvasin mökkiauton, Lefa ja Canelon heidän talon pihalla ja lähetin heille sähköpostilla. Piha oli täynnä krookuksia, skilloja ja pääsisäisliljoa. Miten kaunista. Meillä ei ole pihassa yhtään kevätkukka. Pitänee istuttaa syksyllä ensi kevääksi.

The flea market, junk market or scrap market

The weather was perfect for visiting the flea, junk or scrap market today. I don’t know what’s the right name for it. I went there with hubby and his friend and of course Canelo. There’s an air port, for small planes, right next to the place so I told hubby and Steve take your time I will go for a walk with Canelo. We stopped to watch and take some pictures of many jumping parachute. It looked so nice. Then we walked back to the "market" and as I was not able to find neither Steve or hubby I looked around a bit. The area was huge. I walked around and suddenly my eyes caught something interesting, something I liked. Tiny coffee cups in blue and gold with a rose on the inside. I asked the guy may I take some pictures of them. He said it was OK. The I left. A bit further, at an other place, I found a porcelain "Fox". As we already have a tiger, a leopard, a dog and panther I just had to have the fox. But I could not get the cute blue cups out of my head ! So I went back and bought the cups too.

                    

I think they are so cute. We are not going to use them. They are just for display.

                      

The plate has got the same kind of rose on it under the cup as is on the inside of the cup.

This is the little Fox. The figures are made by Lomonosov Porcelain Figures,  USSR. The first figure, a tiger, we have had already for, I think, almost 40 years.

 

Säät kyllä suosivat rompetoria. Porukkaa oli pajjon. Alue oli iso parkkis lähellä Malmin lentokenttää. Lefan kaveri Steve oli kanssamme ja minä ilmoitin heille etten missään nimessä aijo tulla rompetorille. Menen Canelon kanssa katsomaan lentokoneita ja laskuvarjohypääjiä. Hyppääjiä oli paljon ja näky oli värikäs kun n. 15 äijää leijaili alas. Tylsää oli se että, kuvista ei tullut sitten yksikään mikä kelpaisi näytettäväksi ! Sitten menin takasin autolle. Lefaa ja Steve ei näkynytkään missään joten päätin sittenkin mennä rompetorille katsomaan. Hiukan kierrettyäni totesin että, eipäs taida löytyä mitään mikä minua kinnostaisi. Samassa näin suloiset siníset kupit. En kyllä aikonut ostaa niitä . . . ainoastaan katsoa. Kysyin myyjältä saanko ottaa niistä kuvan . . mikä oli OK. Lähdin eteenpäin ja sattumalta näin pienen porsliini ketun minkä ostin oitis koska meillä on samaa "sarjaa" jo ennestään ja tykkään niistä. Siniset kupit jäivät pyörimään päässäni ! Palasin ja ostin niitä.
Ei käytettäväksi . . vaan ihailtavaksi sekä keräämään pölyä

Brother in law and his daughter sent us some new pictures. When I saw them I just had to find a picture of the two of them in matching outfits I took eight years ago.when we visited them in Philippines. She was then four years old. A very cute and talkative little girl. We went to the school in the afternoons to meet her and every day on the way home she wanted to take the road back where there was a dalmatian she just adored ! She always wanted to treat the dog with something she and her dad bought on the way home.

I wish Philippines would be much closer to us so we would be able to meet them more often.

Here they are, father and daughter, on the last day at school before summer holidays. She is almost as tall as her dad and she looks adorable. As I already mentioned earlier I’m so very proud of being her tita Alice and I know my husband loves to be her uncle. Thank you Ufa and Patti for letting me put the picture on my space.She has a big brother too and we are as proud of being tita and uncle to him. He is already 19 years. We have actually no photos of him since he was about 10 years old. I hope you guys, if you read this, will send us more pictures.

Warm And Sunny Weekend

The weather forecast for the weekend is absolutely great – luvassa superhienot säät viikonlopuksi

Thursday – torstai + 9 C / + 50 F = Vacuum cleaning, taking the rugs out to fresh them up, laundry. Siivoan, käytän matot pihalla, pesen pyykkiä ja haravoin

Friday – perjantai + 13 C / + 56 F = We are going to the shopping center and supermarket. Tehdään viikonlopun ruokaostokset

Saturday – lauantai + 16 C / + 61 F = With hubby to two different "scrap" markets for car and bike spear parts etc. Not exactly what I love to do but I always am able to have a nice time taking pictures. Käyn ukkokullan kanssa parilla eri "rompetorilla" Hän tykkää käydä niissä. Minusta siellä on pelkää roinaa

Sunday – sunnuntai + 17 C / + 62 F = We will make a tour in the camper. Vaikka säät tulee olemaan mitä loistavammat niin ajateltiin tehdä pienehkön pyrähdyksen "mökkiautolla"

it done right ! Probably not ! I'll check that up later.

The "Tussilago farfara" is one of the very first spring flowers. It depends
a little but you can see them about at the end of March or beginning of
April. I love the yellow color.Makes the whole world shine !

It's already 0:17 AM. As I have to get up for work tomorrow I better
go to bed now.

The Washing Machine – Panic Over

Boy am I happy we had not to buy a new washing machine YET. It turned out the drive belt had jumpped off and needed to be replaced which my hubby was able to fix. Canelo was also wondering what it all was about. You can see his nose, at left, in the picture. I hope the washing machine will keep running for a loong time still.

Kävin tänään liikkeissä katsomassa uusia koneita. Ovat kyllä kehittyneet sitten meidän.

Pyysin kuitenkin että, Leif vielä kerran, ennen kuin ostetaan uutta konetta katsoisi olisiko vika ehkä vaan sitä että, hihna ei ole paikalla.

Niinhän se oli. Mikä helpotus ettei vielä tarvinnut ostaa uutta konetta 

Toivon vaan että tämä meidän superkorjaaja on saannut sen niin hyvin laitettu ettei heti taas jämähdä. Canelokin kävi uteliaana ihmettelemässä mistä on kysymys.
